Jared and I got married on the 14th of August, 2008. It was perfect weather, and everything went very smoothly, thanks to our family and friends who were willing to put lots of time, money, effort, etc, etc into making this a great day for us. Thank you to everyone! And... we will be sending out Thank You cards soon... I think.... No, I'm sure. At least, I know we will someday. It's just difficult to make time to do anything these days! I'll explain a bit later.
The day after we got married, we headed to Oahu, Hawaii for our honeymoon!
(I will put pictures here soon!)
We had such a fun time. This trip was all thanks to Jared's parents -- everything was taken care of, which was incredible. Also, thanks to Jared's friend, Jon, we were able to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. We also visited the temple in Laie, snorkled at Hanauma Bay, and tanned (??? -- I'll tell the story later...) at the lagoons at our hotel. It was gorgeous there. I absolutely loved driving to Laie - everything was so green and the mountains were huge and beautiful. Most of the drive is right along the ocean, too. Pretty, pretty.
After Hawaii, we came home to reality for the most part. Jared had to work the day we got back, and I had to go to work the next day. We quickly realized how conflicting our schedules are.

(mostly daily) responsibilities include: making anywhere from 7-16 batches of chocolate chip cookie dough each day, baking the cookies, making sugar cookie dough, kneading, rolling, and cutting out sugar cookies, baking sugar cookies (approximately 15-19 trays daily), frosting sugar cookies, doing the dishes (lots of them to be done!), making peanut butter cookies (dough and baking), making oatmeal cookies (same), making snickerdoodles (same), making double fudge cookies (same), making chocolate syrup from scratch, plain cream cheese frosting, lemon frosting, cinnamon frosting, almond frosting, sweeping, mopping, washing everything off (especially after whipping up the frosting - messy!), baking more cookies in the afternoon, helping customers when it gets busy, answering the phone, taking orders, making orders (ordering food so we don't run out, supplies, etc.), and so on. I didn't need to elaborate, but after working 10-13 hrs each day this week, I needed to let it all out somehow! So, to sum it up, I generally show up to work around 5:30-7:00 a.m. and get off anytime from 4:00-9:00 p.m.
Jared, on the other hand, has his first class at UVU at either 8:00 a.m. or 8:30 a.m., depending on the day. He then has another class or two usually until he leaves for work at 1:00 p.m. He works at the Utah State Developmental Center, taking care of the mentally handicapped. He gets off work at 10:00 p.m. and usually gets home by 10:30 p.m. And by that time, as you might've guessed, I'm ready to plop into bed and sleep for the next 6 hours or so before I have to get up again and go to work. (Whew!) Luckily, Jared has Mondays off, and on those days we get to see eachother whenever I get off work. Saturdays we try to go to the temple in the morning before he goes to work at 1, and Sundays are free from work and school - thank goodness! I'm pretty sure we'll survive this stage just fine. It's just a hunch, though. ;)
Next post - videos from Hawaii!
I am so glad you are doing this! It sounds like you two are keeping busy!
