If you have called or texted us...

Don't be upset that we haven't replied or called back! I lost my phone two weeks ago and haven't found it yet, and Jared lost his phone yesterday (it's probably at my Mom's house, so if you are at my Mom's house, keep an eye out for it!) So, we promise that we don't hate you -- we just have no phones to receive calls and/or texts at the moment. If you need to contact me, you can email me at alisamarie (at) gmail (dot) com. And Jared's email is jared.dehoyos (at) gmail (dot) com -- I check my email a couple of times a day, usually. We'll let you know when/if we find our phones!

UPDATE: I've set up our computer so that we can have outgoing and incoming calls for free (and Jill says the sound is great - it doesn't sound like we're talking over the internet) -- the number to call us is 801-877-1559.

Update #2: I've just discovered that we could very possibly get out of our Sprint contracts for free, so there's a good chance that will be happening in the next couple of days. Once we do that, we could both get a prepaid phone for under $20/each, and only pay $40 for minutes every 3 months, compared to almost DOUBLE that for only one month ($70/mo.) And I learned that Tracfone is selling phones with "Unlimited Double Minutes" which means when you spend $20 on 60 minutes, you will actually get 120 minutes for the same price -- for all the minutes you purchase as long as you use the phone. We don't hardly use our cell phones, anyway, and now that I have a "free" phone at home, it seems that it would be the best choice... It would save us over 650 each year. Any thoughts?

  1. Cool - I have the same setup at home for our home phone. GizmoProject FTW :).

It seems like T-Mobile has a great pre-paid plan, but I'm sure you looked into that. It's what Justin and mom use.

About your cell phones, that's too bad. Sometimes tho, I've seen Jared's phone try to hide itself under keyboards, you may try looking there.

  2. I've used the prepaid T-Mobile service for about 3 years, and it's great. It costs me less than $100 per year (for $100 I can get 1000 minutes, or more if they're doing a promotion). And as long as you add minutes before the old ones expire, the old ones will carry over indefinitely.

  3. Yeah, when I looked at the prepaid plans, Tmobile was the best deal by far.
