It's been about a month...

It's been about a month since we have posted on this blog (other than the Lia video) so here's what has been going on with us since then.

Jared:
We decided it would be best for him to take a break from school this semester in order to apply for a grant for the summer semester. This will allow us to avoid going into debt with student loans and he won't be behind in school by the fall since he normally would have taken a break in the summer anyway.

Alisa:
I recently re-applied to UVU and got accepted for the summer semester as well. I will be getting VA Benefits to help us afford the tuition and costs, and I will likely be working towards a certificate or AAS in Business Management. I also have a job interview tomorrow for a Video Editing Intern position at Eli Kirk. I hope I get the job, because I love editing! We will see, though.

Us:
This week has been more eventful than usual for us. (Usually it's just work, sleep and eat for the most part, so that's not saying too much, haha.) On Monday, we went to see Kim Peek speak at UVU. It was really interesting and funny. Here's a little video to watch if you don't know who Kim Peek is:

Then we went out for dinner and a movie (Paul Blart: Mall Cop -- pretty good!) We attempted to stay up all night in order to get the free Denny's breakfast at 6 am that next day, but we failed and woke up around 7am. We rushed to Denny's, only to find a ridiculously long line outside of the restaurant (in the freezing cold!) The insane part was that everyone in line was just waiting for a seat to even be available, so you know they had to have waited for hours. Crazy! So we got a breakfast at McDonalds to try and make up for our disappointment, and headed home.

All that has really happened since then is the same old. We got our gas bill today, though, and it has nearly tripled! What's up with that? We have even turned our heat lower in the last month. I was relieved to see that Casey and Lukas ran into the same problem, though. I gave Questar a call and they just said that it's normal from December to February, since they are the coldest months. Bummer.

Speaking of Casey and Lukas... they're pregnant! So happy for them. They are gonna have one cute baby.
