Well I am 24 weeks now! The second trimester has gone by much faster than the first trimester. I'm getting more and more excited to meet this little guy! We have a name picked out, but we are keeping it secret until he arrives. We both really like it, thank goodness! I just hope it's not one of those situations where I see him for the first time and say "You don't look like a(n) _______!" and suddenly we have to come up with another name. I don't think that will happen though, because this name is just so perfect.
As far as pregnancy news goes, I have been feeling him kick quite a bit for the last 4-5 weeks. I think I started to feel him kick more clearly around 18-19 weeks. I really love it when he kicks! I don't have to take the fetal doppler out every night to hear his heartbeat anymore because I have his kicks to reassure me. It's hard to believe I actually have a baby inside of me, even with him kicking all the time! It really goes beyond my level of comprehension that a little baby is just hanging out inside of me. So weird! But sooo happy.
Anyway, I actually just wanted to post to the blog because I wanted to share a really easy yummy recipe that my buddy ole pal Casey shared with me. I had it at her house a couple of weeks ago and finally made it myself tonight. It is delish, and soooooooooooo easy.
Black Bean Chicken Tortilla Soup
Directions: Bring the following ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan while stirring occasionally, then serve with tortilla chips, cheese, and sour cream:
1 can of fat free refried black beans
1 can black beans
1 can fat free chicken broth
1 1/2 cups frozen corn
3/4 cup chunky salsa (I used Hot Pace Picante salsa to make it spicy)
1 can cubed chicken (You can also do 3/4 c. of shredded cooked chicken, but I used canned for the easiness factor and it pretty much tastes the same. Feel free to do 2 cans if you want extra chicken.)
1/4 cup water
It's real yum and it's so quick and easy. I love it. It took me about 40 minutes to buy the ingredients, make it, and eat it. You should make it and tell me what you think!
Haha. I should probably try it in a pan the crock pot just seems so easy!
ReplyDeleteI love your little baby already by the way.
I must try this recipe you speak of...looks delicious!
